The Indians are four jagged rock pinnacles that break the surface between Norman Island and Pelican Island, rising some 50 feet from the seabed. They’re one of the BVI’s signature sites — spectacular for snorkelers on the surface and divers exploring the coral-covered rock below.
The western side drops away in a mini-wall to around 40–50 feet, with swim-throughs, ledges and a sandy bottom. The rock is thick with sea fans, brain and star coral, and clouds of fish, while snorkelers get most of the color in the shallows over the tops of the pinnacles.
National Park day moorings mark the site, and there are only a handful, so it’s worth arriving early.
